Rope Fixing Triumph on Makalu Paves Way for Spring Climbers

The rope fixing on Mount Makalu (8,485 meters) for the spring climbing season has been successfully completed. According to Seven Summit Treks, the task was accomplished on Thursday morning at 10:20 AM under the leadership of Lakpa Sherpa.

The team led by Lakpa Sherpa has also successfully reached the summit of Makalu, marking the first ascent of the season. With the rope fixed all the way to the summit, the route is now open for other climbers to begin their ascents.

Seven Summit Treks reported that some climbers have already departed for their summit attempts following the completion of rope fixing. Makalu, the fifth-highest mountain in the world, lies in the Mahalangur Himalayas, southeast of Mount Everest, and is a popular destination for experienced mountaineers during the spring climbing season.
