Sagar Pandey Triumphs as New President of Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN)

Sagar Pandey won a resounding majority of votes to become the next president of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), marking a noteworthy election result. Rajendra Sapkota, Pandey’s principal opponent in the race, was defeated.

A candidate from Pandey’s group, Sonam Galgen Sherpa, won the post of General Secretary. Sherpa defeated Sapkota’s team’s Rajendra Prasad Subedi, solidifying Pandey’s position as leader.

In the race for Senior Vice President, Karma Sherpa prevailed over Cholendra Bahadur Karki. Meanwhile, from Sapkota’s group, Bishnu Prasad Lamsal and Sanam Sherpa were chosen to serve as First and Second Vice Presidents, respectively.

The elections also saw Rinji Jangbu Sherpa appointed as Secretary, Gautam Raj Wagle as Treasurer, and Lakpa Temba Sherpa as Assistant Treasurer. The association’s newly elected members include Pabitra Tamang, Ambar Bahadur Gurung, Binod Tamang, Hom Bahadur Bishwokarma, and Phurpu Chiring Lhomi (Bhote).

The newly elected leadership team is anticipated to drive forward TAAN’s objectives, focusing on the advancement of Nepal’s trekking industry and addressing the needs and interests of its stakeholders.
