Sanyukta Shrestha: An Icon of Sustainable Fashion Illuminating Nepal Worldwide

Sanyukta Shrestha, who was born in the Himalayan region, has gained international recognition and is now a spokesperson for Nepal’s customs, handicrafts, and environmentally conscious principles. She came from a modest, industrious family, but her intense curiosity took her on a journey grounded in purpose that took her beyond the glamour of the fashion industry.

Sanyukta Shrestha

Sanyukta has been producing eco-friendly bridal and women’s clothing since 1998 by combining traditional Nepali handicrafts with natural textiles. Her designs that were featured at Cannes, BAFTA, and the Oscars have brought Nepali weavers’ and craftspeople’s talent to the world’s attention. Fifth Harmony and Candice Swanepoel are among the celebrities who have donned her designs.

Known as the “Green Goddess” by PETA and the media, she has been at the forefront of sustainable bridal fashion in the UK since 2011. Her efforts raise awareness of Nepal’s rich cultural legacy while also advancing ethical fashion.

As interest in cultural and experiential tourism increases, Sanyukta’s story enhances Nepal’s reputation in the international travel and fashion sectors by showcasing the country not only as a trekking destination but also as a source of timeless art, sustainable values, and creative innovation.
