Second Edition of Tenzing Norgay Sherpa Open Climbing Competition Heads to Semi-Finals and Finals

The second edition of the Tenzing Norgay Sherpa Open Climbing Competition will hold its semi-final and final rounds on Thursday. The competition, which has drawn significant attention from the climbing community, is being organized to promote climbing sports and encourage emerging climbers in Nepal.

The semi-final round will take place at the Crimpanzee Adventure Hub in Boudha, where 50+ participants compete for a spot in the next stage. Among them, 16 male and 16 female climbers have successfully qualified for the semi-finals.

The event commenced on Wednesday at the Gateway Adventure Hub in Jagadol. It is jointly organized by the US Nepal Climber Association and the Nepal National Mountain Climbing Guide Association, two prominent organizations dedicated to fostering mountaineering and climbing activities in Nepal.

The competition offers attractive cash prizes for the top performers. The winners in both male and female categories will receive Rs. 45,000 for first place, Rs. 30,000 for second place, and Rs. 15,000 for third place. The event is expected to be a thrilling showcase of climbing talent, highlighting Nepal’s growing prominence in the global climbing community.
