A 63-year-old woman, Pawana Khadka from Lungra, Chaurpati Rural Municipality-5, Achham, has been rescued from the main religious and tourist area of Badimalika in Sudurpaschim Province. Khadka fell ill due to oxygen deprivation while on her way to attend the annual Badimalika fair.
According to the District Police Office, Khadka experienced symptoms of altitude sickness on Friday night at Triveni Patan while en route to Badimalika. As her condition worsened, a helicopter from the Nepalese Army was dispatched today to airlift her to Surkhet for further treatment.
