Seven Summit Treks (SST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dr. Aizhan Zhumabayeva and her team to organize the Everest-Lhotse Dental Expedition 2027, a humanitarian initiative aimed at providing free dental care to people living and working in Nepal’s high-altitude mountain environment.
The initiative, described as the first Everest-Lhotse Dental Expedition, will combine mountaineering logistics with humanitarian medical services during the spring 2027 climbing season. The expedition will focus on supporting Sherpas, high-altitude workers, and members of the wider Everest community who play an important role in facilitating mountaineering activities in the region.

100% Free Dental Care for Everest Community
Under the initiative, the dental team will provide 100% free dental care to eligible members of the Everest community. The program is intended to address dental health needs among people who work in challenging high-altitude environments and contribute directly to mountaineering expeditions.
Sherpa guides, porters, high-altitude support workers, and other members of the local mountain community are essential to the success of expeditions in the Everest region. However, access to specialized healthcare services can be challenging in remote and high-altitude areas. The dental expedition aims to bring professional dental services closer to these communities while an increasing number of climbers and expedition teams gather in the region during the spring season.
Seven Summit Treks to Serve as Official Expedition and Logistics Partner
As part of the MoU, Seven Summit Treks will serve as the Official Expedition and Logistics Partner in Nepal for the independent humanitarian medical initiative. The company will contribute its experience in expedition operations, mountain logistics and coordination in Nepal to support the dental team’s activities.

Its role is expected to help facilitate the movement, coordination, and operational requirements associated with delivering medical services in the Everest region. Seven Summit Treks said it was pleased to contribute its operational experience and logistical capabilities to an initiative that brings together mountaineering and humanitarian healthcare.
Supporting the People Behind High-Altitude Expeditions
The Everest-Lhotse Dental Expedition 2027 is designed to recognize and support the mountain communities and workers who make high-altitude expeditions possible. The Everest region attracts mountaineers from around the world each spring, with Sherpa guides, high-altitude workers and local communities playing a central role in expedition operations.
By providing free dental services, the initiative seeks to extend healthcare support to these communities alongside the regular expedition activities taking place in the region. The collaboration between Seven Summit Treks and Dr. Zhumabayeva’s team is therefore expected to create an additional humanitarian component within the 2027 Everest-Lhotse climbing season.
Program to Continue with Manaslu Initiative in Autumn 2027
The collaboration is also expected to extend beyond the Everest-Lhotse expedition. According to Seven Summit Treks, the partners are looking forward to continuing the dental humanitarian initiative in the Manaslu region during the autumn 2027 climbing season. The continuation would allow the initiative to reach another major high-altitude expedition community in Nepal and potentially expand access to free dental care among mountain guides, workers, and local residents.

Combining Mountaineering with Humanitarian Healthcare
The Everest-Lhotse Dental Expedition 2027 represents an effort to integrate professional healthcare services with Nepal’s high-altitude expedition sector. Through the partnership, Dr. Aizhan Zhumabayeva and her team will lead the dental initiative, while Seven Summit Treks will provide expedition and logistics support in Nepal.
The partners said they look forward to working together at Everest Base Camp during the spring 2027 season and continuing their collaboration in Manaslu later in the year. The initiative highlights how Nepal’s established mountaineering infrastructure and expedition expertise can also support humanitarian programs aimed at the communities and workers who are closely connected to the country’s high-altitude tourism and mountaineering industry.
