A Shree Airlines flight scheduled for departure from Tribhuvan International Airport to Surkhet was diverted back to the parking area this morning after passengers on board caused a commotion.
According to Anil Manandhar, the Marketing Manager of Shree Airlines, the flight, which was scheduled to take off at 7:30 AM, was returned to the parking area after the disturbance was reported.
Manandhar explained that international regulations dictate that if a disturbance occurs on board, the aircraft must be returned to the ground if it is still on the runway. If the disturbance happens in the air, an emergency landing is required. This protocol is designed to ensure that flight safety is not compromised due to passenger behavior.
The passengers on the parked aircraft were addressed and reconciled, and the flight was subsequently cleared for departure to Surkhet.
