A Shree Airlines flight en route from Kathmandu to Surkhet was diverted back to Tribhuvan International Airport shortly after takeoff due to a technical issue. The aircraft encountered a problem with its indicator just minutes after departure, leading to the decision to divert the flight.
According to Rinji Sherpa, spokesperson for the airport, the diversion was not an emergency landing but a precautionary measure. “The flight, which took off this morning from Kathmandu towards Surkhet, was diverted back to the airport after covering approximately 30 nautical miles due to a wheel steering lock issue,” Sherpa explained.
Currently, all other flights from the airport are operating as scheduled. Shree Airlines manager Anil Manandhar confirmed that passengers on the affected flight have been accommodated on alternative flights to reach their destination.
This incident highlights the airline’s commitment to passenger safety by taking necessary precautions to address technical issues promptly.
