Singapore Airlines has announced plans to operate its advanced Dreamliner-10 series aircraft during the upcoming Dashain and Tihar festivals, in response to the anticipated surge in passenger numbers. The airline will introduce the 337-seat aircraft on its Kathmandu route, specifically on Mondays and Thursdays, according to Everest Express Tours and Travel, the airline’s General Sales Agent (GSA) in Nepal.
Sudhir Pandey, the owner of Everest Express Tours and Travel, confirmed the move, citing the expected increase in passenger volume from October to November. “We are preparing to use larger aircraft as the number of passengers increases during the Dashain-Tihar period,” Pandey stated.
The Dashain-Tihar season, a peak travel period for Nepalis returning home and a busy time for foreign tourists visiting Nepal, necessitates additional capacity. “Given the large number of foreign tourists and Nepalis traveling home, we will be flying the Dreamliner-10 series,” Pandey added.
The Dreamliner-10, with 337 seats, offers 36 business class seats and 301 economy class seats, providing ample capacity for both premium and economy travelers.
Currently, Singapore Airlines operates seven weekly flights to Kathmandu using the Boeing 757. The introduction of the Dreamliner-10 series marks a significant upgrade, ensuring passengers experience enhanced comfort and service during one of Nepal’s busiest travel seasons.
