For the first time, Singapore Airlines is set to operate its Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft on the Singapore-Kathmandu-Singapore route. Targeting Nepal’s major festivals, Dashain and Tihar, the airline announced it will run two Dreamliner flights per week in addition to its existing seven weekly flights.
The Dreamliner flights will take place every Monday and Thursday during October and November. The decision comes in response to high demand during the festive season and the increased influx of foreign tourists for trekking in Nepal during November, the airline stated.
Singapore Airlines’ Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner has a capacity of 337 seats, including 36 business class and 301 economy class seats. The business class seats can be converted into fully flat beds measuring 76 inches in length, with 26-inch wide seats adjustable for height and comfort, ensuring passengers have a more luxurious travel experience.
Economy class seats are ergonomically designed with enhanced back support, featuring six-way adjustable headrests and level-setting capabilities for added comfort. Passengers will also have access to over 1,900 movies, TV shows, music albums, and games, along with complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the flight.
This will be the largest aircraft, based on seating capacity, to operate out of Tribhuvan International Airport. The remaining five weekly flights on the route will continue using the existing Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
