The launch of the Sky Walk Tower in the tourist city of Bhedetar has generated excitement among local hoteliers. Wonders Amusement Parks and Attractions Pvt. Ltd. inaugurated the Sky Walk Tower on Friday in Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality-6, Dhankuta, investing NPR 200 million over an 11-ropani area.
Tourism entrepreneurs in the area are optimistic that the tower will enhance tourism activities. Tumraj Limbu, President of the Hotel Association Bhedetar, expressed confidence that the Sky Walk Tower will invigorate tourism. “The inauguration saw an increase in tourist arrivals, and we expect the business for local hotels to improve,” he said.
Ramesh Shrestha, operator of Hotel Arun Top, noted that the tower would not only boost the hotel business but also aid in the sale of local agricultural products.
Former President of the Hotel Association Bhedetar and operator of Hotel Lawati Corner, Lilaraj Lawati, highlighted that this project will significantly support more than 100 large hotels in the area.
During the summer, Bhedetar sees a high influx of tourists from the Terai region. Situated in the Chure hills, Bhedetar offers simultaneous views of the mountains, hills, and the Terai. According to the Hotel Association, over 2,000 tourists from eastern India and various parts of Nepal visit Bhedetar daily for sightseeing.
Jitendra Rumdali Rai, Chairman of Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality, stated that the operation of the Sky Walk Tower will aid in the development of tourism in the area. Currently, over 200 small and large hotels are operating in Bhedetar.
