State Minister Chaudhary Calls for Global Promotion of Nepali Cuisine

Arun Kumar Chaudhary, the State Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, emphasized the importance of promoting Nepali cuisine internationally. Speaking at the 29th Annual General Meeting of the Chefs’ Association of Nepal, he highlighted the crucial role Nepali chefs play in representing the country’s traditional foods on the global stage.

Minister Chaudhary praised the efforts of Nepali chefs in introducing Nepali cuisine to international audiences, saying, “The state should recognize the role of Nepali chefs in showcasing our culture, identity, and unique foods abroad. The government is committed to taking this matter seriously.”

Resham Bahadur Lama, President of the Chefs’ Association of Nepal, shared that the association has been working tirelessly to promote Nepali culinary heritage and protect the rights of chefs. Established in 1996, the association has become affiliated with the World Chefs’ Society, further supporting the global reach of Nepali cuisine.

During the event, past presidents of the Chefs’ Association and senior chefs with over 25 years in the industry were honored for their dedication. Traditional dishes representing various ethnic communities of Nepal were also showcased, celebrating the country’s rich culinary diversity.
