The Tourism Promotion and B2B Exchange Program in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, on 2nd April and 5th April 2026, jointly organized by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), and PATA Nepal Chapter, concluded successfully, marking a significant step in promoting Nepal as a safe and attractive travel destination for Japanese tourists.
The initiative aimed to enhance Nepal’s visibility in its travel market and foster meaningful engagement between Nepali travel trade representatives and key Japanese travel industry players, including tour operators, travel agencies, and media professionals.

Promoting Nepal as a Premier Destination
The program provided an effective platform for direct interactions, networking sessions, and partnership-building opportunities between Nepali and Japanese counterparts. Nepali delegates were able to showcase their tourism products and services, highlighting Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, adventure tourism opportunities, wellness experiences, and iconic destinations.
The Tokyo program witnessed the presence of Deputy Chief of the Mission, Mr. Harihar Kanta Poudel, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting Nepal internationally. A presentation on Nepal’s diverse tourism offerings was delivered by Ms. Ranu Shah, Senior Manager at NTB, highlighting the country’s unique appeal as a safe and year-round travel destination.

Showcasing Nepal Airlines and Connectivity
A special presentation by Nepal Airlines Corporation introduced its fleet, updated flight schedules, and enhanced connectivity to Japan, providing critical information for Japanese travel agents and tour operators. This reinforced the ease of access to Nepal and strengthened confidence among potential travelers.
By presenting Nepal as a secure, unique, and diverse destination, the program aimed to enhance Nepal’s brand image in the Japanese market. It also encouraged the development of niche travel packages designed specifically to appeal to Japanese tourists, particularly in cultural, adventure, and wellness tourism segments.

Participation of the Nepali Travel Industry
The program was a collaborative effort, featuring participation from a wide array of Nepali travel trade companies, including:
- Heritage Tours and Travels
- Alpine Rescue Services
- Club Himalaya
- Himalayan Holidays Trekking
- High Ground Adventure
- Arya Hotel and Spa
- Real Adventure Nepal
- Hotel Jampa
- Majestic Lakefront
- Khumbila Hotel
- Off the Wall Trekking
- Cho Oyu Trekking
These organizations leveraged the platform to showcase their services, exchange knowledge with Japanese counterparts, and explore collaborative opportunities for increasing tourist arrivals.
Strengthening Bilateral Tourism Relations
The B2B exchange program underscored a unified approach to promoting Nepal as a preferred destination for Japanese travelers. By fostering business partnerships, sharing information, and showcasing Nepal’s tourism products, the initiative is expected to create long-term positive impacts on Nepal-Japan tourism relations.

Such efforts also contribute to positioning Nepal as a safe and welcoming country for international visitors, while helping travel companies diversify offerings and attract targeted segments of tourists. The event is a clear demonstration of the importance of international collaboration in tourism marketing and provides a roadmap for future initiatives aimed at increasing Nepal’s global tourism footprint.
With Japan being one of the key international source markets for Nepal, continued engagement through similar promotional and B2B exchange programs is expected to yield higher tourist inflow, stronger bilateral tourism partnerships, and enhanced awareness of Nepal’s safety, culture, and unique experiences among Japanese travelers. By integrating adventure, culture, wellness, and sustainable tourism offerings, Nepal continues to position itself as a safe, diverse, and year-round travel destination for the global audience.
