Sub Committee Submits Corruption Report on Pokhara Airport Led by Rajendra Lingden

The parliamentary committee has received the report from a parliamentary subcommittee that was established to investigate corruption at Pokhara Regional International Airport and was led by Member of Parliament Rajendra Lingden. The report was presented at a press conference on Monday at Shankar Hall in the Parliament building by the subcommittee, which was established approximately a year ago and is led by Linden, the president of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). In addition, Chairman Lingden serves on the House of Representatives’ Public Accounts Committee.

A subcommittee led by Lingden was established on May 28, 2081 (Nepali calendar) to investigate the corruption and anomalies at the airport. According to Chairman Linden, the subcommittee has produced a 38-page report with six major conclusions following site inspections, interactions, discussions, and document reviews.

Rishikesh Pokhrel, the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, stated during the report’s submission that two subcommittees had been established to investigate corruption at the Pokhara and Bhairahawa airports. He pointed out that while the report on Bhairahawa airport, headed by Yogesh Bhattarai, is still pending, the report on Pokhara airport, led by Lingden, was turned in today.

Chairman Pokhrel added that the main committee will discuss the report and draw conclusions based on the recommendations. Janardan Sharma, Gokul Baskota, Amanlal Modi, Arjun Narasingh KC, Prem Ale, Ramkrishna Yadav, Tara Lama, Dev Prasad Timilsina, Deepak Giri, and Rukmani Rana are among the members of the subcommittee, which is chaired by Lingden.
