Successful Breakthrough: Waste Segregation and Recycling Initiative Transforms Madi RM-3, Yangjakot

A successful waste segregation and recycling initiative was carried out yesterday in Madi Rural Municipality-3, Yangjakot, with the support of the NTNC ACAP Sikles Mother’s Group, CAMC, and residents. The team managed to collect and transport a total of 460 kg of bottle waste, 106 kg of plastic waste, and 6 kg of cans to the Green Road Waste Management Processing Center for recycling.

This effort is a significant step toward promoting sustainable waste management practices in the Annapurna Conservation Area (ACA) region, aimed at reducing the carbon footprint and fostering a cleaner, greener environment. The collaboration between the community, local organizations, and environmental groups highlights the importance of collective action in preserving the region’s natural beauty.

The initiative serves as a reminder of the power of community involvement in environmental conservation, encouraging others to contribute to waste reduction efforts for a more sustainable future.
