The Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), is set to launch the “Sustainable Tourism for Livelihood Recovery Project” (STLRP). This project focuses on enhancing sustainable tourism practices within the trekking and Buddhist cultural heritage sectors.
The training program, scheduled from Shrawan 4th to 6th, 2081 (July 19 to 21, 2024), will be held at Hotel Encounter Nepal, Galkopakha, Kathmandu. It aims to promote pilgrimage, wellness, meditation, and retreat-based tourism.
Participants will gain insights into sustainable tourism strategies that can aid in livelihood recovery, focusing on the unique blend of trekking and Buddhist cultural heritage. The training will cover various aspects of tourism, emphasizing wellness and meditation retreats to attract a diverse range of tourists.
This initiative is part of TAN’s broader efforts to bolster the tourism industry in Nepal by integrating sustainable practices that ensure long-term benefits for local communities and the environment.
