Due to the ongoing heavy rain and adverse weather conditions across Nepal, many tourists and their assistant team members have become stranded in various regions. Landslides have obstructed several road sections, and flights have been suspended, leaving numerous travelers trapped in different airports. The Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) has expressed deep concern over the challenges faced by both tourists and assistant team members during this crisis.
In response, TAAN has issued an advisory, urging all trekking agencies to prioritize the safety of their clients and staff by remaining in safe locations until the weather improves. The association has recommended that no new hiking or trekking expeditions be undertaken during this period of unfavorable weather.
TAAN is working in coordination with the Tourist Police and other relevant authorities to ensure the safe return of stranded tourists and team members to Kathmandu. Efforts are being made to reopen roads affected by landslides, and the association has received an update that road operations are expected to resume within approximately one hour.
