Tangting Village Takes Initiative in Waste Management with Community Engagement

A detailed discussion on waste management was recently held in the picturesque cultural village of Tangting and its surrounding trekking trails. The focus was on the segregation and management of non-biodegradable waste such as plastic, bottles, and cans, which often litter the area’s natural beauty. The discussion was spearheaded by the Deputy Chairperson of Madi Rural Municipality in collaboration with the Conservation Area Management Committee (CAMC) Namarjung, local ward representatives, the Tangting Mothers’ Group, and local residents.

Topics covered included waste segregation techniques, recycling processes, and sustainable waste management practices to preserve the environment and enhance the area’s appeal to tourists. This initiative is expected to foster better waste management practices and strengthen community involvement in maintaining the ecological and cultural integrity of Tangting. Such efforts underscore the importance of collective responsibility in promoting sustainable tourism and environmental conservation.
