Tara Gaon Regency Hotels Ltd. Recognized for Highest Tax Contribution in Tourism Sector

Tara Gaon Regency Hotels Ltd. managed under the international chain Hyatt in Boudha, Kathmandu, has been honored as the highest taxpayer in the tourism sector for the fiscal year 2070/80. The 303-room hotel, the largest in Nepal, received this recognition from the Internal Revenue Department as an outstanding taxpayer.

This is not the first time the hotel has been acknowledged for its significant contributions to the tourism industry. The hotel has been repeatedly honored in the past for being the highest taxpayer in the sector.

Constructed with a concept reflecting Nepali art and style, the hotel is part of the Tara Gaon Cultural Centre and has played a crucial role in Nepal’s tourism industry for over two decades. Corporate President Rani Byang mentioned that the hotel has directly provided employment to approximately 325 people.

The hotel was conceived and construction began before the decade-long civil war, with its operations starting in 2000, during the peak of the conflict. Despite the challenging political and economic conditions, the hotel overcame several years of losses and managed to turn a profit following the restoration of peace in the country.

Tara Gaon Regency has previously been recognized for its high tax contributions in the fiscal years 2071/72, 2073/74, 2074/75, 2075/76, and 2076/77. Additionally, the hotel was honored by the Nepalese government in 2076 for generating the highest amount of foreign currency in the tourism sector.
