Speaking at the program, Mr. Mani Raj Lamichhane, Senior Director and Chief of the Nepal Tourism Board, Gandaki Province Office, emphasized the importance of inclusive participation for sustainable tourism growth.

“Women entrepreneurs play a vital role in strengthening Nepal’s tourism economy. Equal participation is not just a matter of representation but a foundation for sustainable and resilient tourism development,” said Lamichhane.

He further stated that NTB is committed to supporting women-led tourism initiatives through capacity-building programs, destination promotion, and collaboration with provincial and local stakeholders. Addressing the participants, TEWAN President Mrs. Shova Neupane Pandey highlighted the association’s mission to uplift women entrepreneurs through continuous learning and networking opportunities.

“This program is designed to empower women with practical skills, confidence, and digital knowledge so they can compete effectively in today’s tourism market and contribute meaningfully to sustainable tourism,” said Pandey.

She added that TEWAN remains dedicated to creating platforms where women can share experiences, build professional networks, and collectively address challenges faced in the tourism industry. Mrs. Pandey also acknowledged the support of NTB Gandaki Province for promoting women-focused tourism initiatives.

Strengthening Women’s Role in Sustainable Tourism

The workshop reinforced the message that sustainable tourism cannot be achieved without equal participation of women at all levels of the industry. Through interactive sessions, group discussions, and experience-sharing, participants gained practical tools to improve service quality, customer engagement, and business resilience.

Participants expressed appreciation for the comprehensive nature of the program, particularly the sessions on digital marketing and cybersecurity, which are increasingly relevant in the post-pandemic tourism landscape. Many noted that the training enhanced their confidence to expand their businesses and adopt innovative approaches.

The successful completion of the program marks another milestone in TEWAN’s efforts to promote women entrepreneurship in tourism. With continued collaboration between organizations like TEWAN and NTB, such initiatives are expected to play a crucial role in advancing gender-inclusive and sustainable tourism development in Nepal.

The event concluded with a commitment to continue similar programs in the future, ensuring that women entrepreneurs remain well-equipped to lead, innovate, and contribute to Nepal’s tourism growth.
