The Tourism Entrepreneurs Women Association Nepal (TEWAN) has decided to contribute Rs 1,01,111 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support people affected by the recent disasters in the country. The decision was taken during the association’s meeting held on September 8, considering the difficult situation faced by communities affected by floods, landslides, and other disasters.
Shova Neupane Pandey, President of TEWAN, said the association decided to stand with disaster-affected communities by contributing Rs 1,01,111 to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund and redirecting funds from its cancelled Teej programme toward relief efforts.
Tourism and Culture Festival Postponed
According to the decisions made at the meeting, TEWAN has decided to postpone the “Tourism and Culture, Teej Cultural Festival and Entrepreneur Fair 2083”, which was scheduled to be held at Barahi Ghat, Lakeside, Pokhara. The association said the decision was taken in view of the country’s current difficult circumstances and the need to prioritize support for disaster-affected communities.
Teej Dar Khane Programme Cancelled
TEWAN has also cancelled the Teej Dar Khane programme scheduled for Bhadra 14. The programme was called off due to the prevailing situation in the country. Rather than spending the amount allocated for the celebration, the association has decided to redirect the Teej Dar Khane programme budget toward disaster relief. The move reflects the association’s decision to prioritize humanitarian assistance over celebrations during the current crisis.
Rs 1,01,111 to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund
As part of its relief initiative, TEWAN will provide Rs 1,01,111 (one lakh one thousand one hundred eleven rupees) to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund for the support of disaster victims.
The association’s decision is aimed at contributing to relief and recovery efforts and extending support to individuals and communities affected by the ongoing disaster situation. TEWAN’s initiative also highlights the role of tourism entrepreneurs and women-led organizations in supporting communities during times of crisis.
