Thai AirAsia has launched its direct flights between Bangkok and Bhairahawa to significantly boost Nepal’s aviation and tourism sector. The first flight from Bangkok landed today, Sunday, at Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa.
According to the airport’s General Manager, Pratap Babu Tiwari, Thai AirAsia will now operate flights between Bangkok and Bhairahawa twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays. The next flight is scheduled for November 8 (Mangsir 23), marking a new era for connectivity between Nepal and Thailand.
Today’s inaugural flight arrived at Bhairahawa Airport at 7:00 AM and departed for Bangkok at 7:40 AM, as per Tiwari. The flight carried a seven-member crew, with no passengers on board for the initial trip. The one-way introductory fare for the Bhairahawa to Bangkok route is NPR 12,000.
This new service is expected to enhance travel convenience for tourists and Nepalese travelers alike while promoting Bhairahawa as a growing hub for international connectivity in Nepal.
