THAI Airways to Introduce Boeing 777-200 on Bangkok-Kathmandu Route

THAI Airways International, Thailand’s national flag carrier, is gearing up to deploy a Boeing 777-200 widebody aircraft on its Bangkok-Kathmandu route starting September 15.

The decision to introduce the Boeing widebody aircraft on one of its two daily flights is driven by an uptick in passenger demand, as noted by Society International Travel.

The Boeing 777-200 will feature 30 business class and 262 economy class seats, offering enhanced capacity and comfort for travelers.

Currently, THAI Airways operates 14 flights per week using Airbus 320 series aircraft, each accommodating up to 162 passengers.

Flight operations resumed on October 29, 2023, with Society International Travel Services acting as the General Sales Agent in Nepal.

THAI Airways first initiated flights to Nepal in 1968, commencing with a route from Bangkok to Kathmandu via Calcutta. This longstanding commitment to connecting Nepal globally and facilitating inbound tourism came to a temporary halt in March 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
