Thorang La Pass Clean-Up Drive Triumphs in Preserving Annapurna’s Beauty

On Kartik 06, 2081, a successful “Collective Clean-Up and Waste Management” program was conducted along the world-famous Annapurna Circuit Trail, specifically from Thorang La Pass to Chambar Bhu (Thorang Phedi) in Mustang district.

This initiative was jointly organized by the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC), Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Jomsom, and Waragung Muktichhetra Rural Municipality. The program was also supported by the District Police Office, Mustang, through its Community-Police Partnership. The clean-up drive aimed to preserve the natural beauty of the Annapurna Circuit, one of the world’s most renowned trekking routes, by ensuring proper waste management in the region.

The collaboration between conservation authorities, local government bodies, and the police highlights the importance of community engagement in protecting the environment and promoting sustainable tourism in Mustang. Such efforts are crucial in maintaining the pristine nature of this popular trekking destination, ensuring a positive experience for visitors while protecting the ecological balance of the region.
