TikTok and Nepal Tourism Board Launch #VisitNepal Campaign to Promote Nepal Globally

TikTok, in partnership with the Government of Nepal through the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), has launched the #VisitNepal campaign to promote Nepal’s diverse tourism attractions, cultural heritage and natural beauty to global audiences through digital storytelling and travel content. The campaign was officially launched during a #VisitNepal event held in Kathmandu on November 6, 2026.

The initiative aims to strengthen Nepal’s international tourism visibility by using TikTok’s global platform to showcase the country’s established destinations, lesser-known attractions and diverse travel experiences, while encouraging travellers worldwide to explore Nepal. The partnership also seeks to contribute to Nepal’s socio-economic development by supporting local tourism businesses, empowering content creators and providing new opportunities for communities through digital tourism promotion.

International Travel Creators Explore Nepal’s Tourism Attractions

As part of the campaign, TikTok brought nine international travel content creators from Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and South Asia to Nepal. The creators arrived in the country on October 30 and are scheduled to stay until November 7, exploring different destinations and sharing their travel experiences with their global audiences.

Through their travel content, the creators are highlighting Nepal’s natural beauty, cultural richness and diverse tourism experiences. The initiative aims to introduce international audiences to both popular tourist destinations and lesser-known attractions, inspiring potential travellers to discover new places across the country. By bringing international creators to experience Nepal firsthand, the campaign aims to generate authentic travel stories and expand the country’s visibility among TikTok users in different international markets.

Dedicated #VisitNepal Hashtag Page and Digital Promotion

TikTok has also introduced a dedicated #VisitNepal hashtag page to increase the visibility and engagement of tourism-related content. The platform’s Collab feature is being used in partnership with Nepali celebrities and local content creators to reach wider audiences and present Nepal through authentic local perspectives.

The campaign also includes livestream sessions from popular tourism destinations, allowing audiences around the world to experience Nepal virtually and discover places they may wish to visit in the future. The #VisitNepal campaign is scheduled to continue through the end of 2026, providing an extended opportunity to promote Nepal’s tourism offerings through digital platforms.

Government Highlights the Role of Digital Platforms in Tourism Promotion

Nepal’s Minister for Information and Communication, Dr. Bikram Timilsina, attended the launch event as the Chief Guest. Addressing the programme, he highlighted the growing influence of digital platforms in shaping travel decisions and connecting destinations with international audiences. He said that digital platforms have transformed the way people discover destinations and that stories shared from one part of the world can inspire people elsewhere to visit. He welcomed TikTok as a potential long-term partner in connecting Nepal’s tourism, culture, creativity and young people with global audiences, adding that such opportunities could also support local communities.

Similarly, Emir Gelen, Head of Government Relations and Public Policy for TikTok’s Middle East, Eurasia and Africa (MEA) region, said the platform has transformed how people discover destinations, cultures and experiences by turning inspiration into real-world opportunities. He said the partnership with the Government of Nepal and Nepal Tourism Board through the #VisitNepal campaign aims to showcase the country’s tourism potential internationally while supporting local creators, small businesses and communities through the digital economy.

Partnership Builds on Earlier Tourism Training Initiatives

The #VisitNepal campaign builds on TikTok’s earlier collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board, which included digital storytelling workshops for local tourism entrepreneurs and content creators. Through these workshops, more than 300 local participants received training in creating digital tourism content and promoting their businesses and destinations through online platforms.

The latest initiative marks the beginning of a longer-term effort involving the Government of Nepal, the private sector, media partners and the content creator community to strengthen Nepal’s digital tourism promotion. Through international creator engagement, locally produced content, livestream experiences and a dedicated campaign hashtag, the partnership aims to make Nepal’s tourism destinations more visible to global travellers while creating opportunities for local tourism entrepreneurs and communities.
