Tourism as a Path to Prosperity: CPN Leader Dev Prasad Gurung Highlights Vision for Ainapahara

CPN (Maoist Centre) General Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung has highlighted the vast potential for Nepal’s prosperity through tourism, emphasizing the importance of linking tourism to employment and entrepreneurship. Gurung shared his perspective during a visit to the scenic tourist destination Ainapahara in Anbukhaireni Rural Municipality-2 of Tanahu district.

Recognizing Nepal’s abundant natural resources and beauty, Gurung commended the local government’s initiatives to elevate Tanahu as a prime tourist spot. “Tourism can drive prosperity by creating jobs and fostering entrepreneurship,” he noted, underscoring the significance of developing local attractions to benefit surrounding communities.

Rural Municipality Chairman Shukra Chuman shared that significant infrastructure has been built to enhance the tourist experience at Ainapahara. To establish Ainapahara as one of Gandaki Province’s top tourist destinations, the municipality has allocated Rs 140 million for a new park and has ambitious plans for skydiving facilities and sky bridges.

The unique rock formations near Ainapahara’s waterfall, etched with images of Lord Ganesh, children, and fairies, are already attracting over 300 tourists daily, according to Chuman. Public facilities, including toilets, have been installed to accommodate the growing number of visitors.

These development initiatives reflect the local government’s dedication to making Ainapahara a memorable and accessible destination, aiming to position it as a major contributor to Nepal’s tourism-driven economic growth.
