In celebration of World Tourism Day, a significant gathering of tourism ministers from all seven provinces, along with the federal government, will take place in Pokhara on Wednesday. This high-profile event is expected to bring together key stakeholders to discuss tourism policies and initiatives.
According to Kuman Singh Gurung, the Secretary of Gandaki Province’s Tourism Department, all ministers, including Federal Minister for Tourism, Badri Prasad Pandey, will arrive in Pokhara by Tuesday evening. The meeting, chaired by Minister Pandey, will convene on Wednesday morning with a focus on collaboration among provincial tourism ministers.
In the afternoon, a policy dialogue titled “Pokhara: Tourism Capital Policy Dialogue” will be held, with Gandaki Province’s tourism minister presiding over the event. The session will feature participation from the federal minister, the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province, all provincial tourism ministers, and representatives from various tourism-related organizations.
The program will also include presentations from the private sector, Pokhara Tourism Council, Pokhara Metropolitan City, and the Government of Gandaki Province. Federal Tourism Minister and the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province will address the attendees, emphasizing the importance of tourism in Nepal’s economy and the role of Pokhara as the tourism capital.
