With the start of the second major tourist season, foot traffic on the Annapurna Circuit Trek has increased. The best trekking seasons in this region are March-April and October-November.

Krishna Prasad Acharya, President of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Gandaki, stated that tourist arrivals have been rising since last week. He noted that both foreign and domestic tourists are showing greater interest in trekking destinations like ABC, Mardi Himal, Tilicho Lake, Thorong La Pass, Upper Mustang, and Muktinath.

In 2024, 244,045 foreign tourists visited the Annapurna Conservation Area, the highest recorded so far. Among them, 132,094 were from South Asia, while 111,951 were from other countries. Tourism had declined during the COVID-19 pandemic, but since 2023, it has been recovering steadily.

The Annapurna region remains a top trekking destination, offering stunning natural beauty, biodiversity, Himalayan culture, and well-developed trekking infrastructure. Improved road and air connectivity to Pokhara, Nepal’s tourism capital, could further boost arrivals.
