It has been revealed that three members of the same family were among the 18 fatalities in the recent Saurya Airlines crash that occurred on Wednesday. The deceased include Manuraj Sharma, a technician with Saurya Airlines, his wife Priza Khatiwada, and their 4-year-old son, Adhiraj Sharma.
Prija Khatiwada was an Assistant Computer Operator at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation. The aircraft was flying to Pokhara for engine testing, using the hangar at Pokhara International Airport. However, the plane crashed within the airport area shortly after takeoff.
According to spokesperson Nabin Raj Singh, the aircraft also carried Khatiwada and her young son, who were both employees of the Ministry of Energy. Saurya Airlines initially listed Khatiwada and her son as company employees, but it has since been clarified that they were passengers on the flight. The Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed the death of young Adhiraj Sharma in the crash.
The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the families and the broader community, highlighting the personal losses amidst the tragedy.
