A Saurya Airlines aircraft crash at Tribhuvan International Airport has resulted in the death of 18 people. Rescue workers and firefighters have recovered the bodies from the crash site.
A security official involved in the rescue operations indicated that the death toll might rise.
The plane’s captain, M.R. Shakya, was rescued and is currently receiving treatment at KMC Hospital in Sinamangal.
The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on Wednesday as the aircraft took off for Pokhara and veered off the runway, leading to the crash. Rescue operations are still ongoing.
