On Monday, a tragic stampede at the Baba Siddhnath Temple in Makhdoompur, Jehanabad district, Bihar, resulted in the deaths of at least seven people and injuries to nine others.
Jehanabad District Administrator Alankrita Pandey confirmed the incident and stated that the situation is currently under control. The cause of the stampede has not yet been determined.
Jehanabad Police Chief Diwakar Kumar Vishwakarma reported that both the District Administrator and the Superintendent of Police have visited the site to gather information. The deceased are being sent for post-mortem examination.
Police officer Vikas Kumar expressed condolences over the incident, noting that despite adequate safety measures, the unfortunate event occurred. He added that an investigation into the incident is underway.
