TAAN’s 46th Annual General Meeting Underway Amidst Key Leadership Elections

The 46th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) is currently underway today, Monday, 17th Bhadra 2081 (2nd September 2024).

Held at Alice Reception in Garidhara, the AGM is being conducted under the chief hospitality of the Honorable Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey. This prestigious event is an important milestone for TAAN, an umbrella organization representing over 2,400 trekking agencies dedicated to the development, promotion, and management of mountain tourism in Nepal.

The AGM not only serves as a platform to review the past year’s activities and achievements but also sets the stage for the election of new leadership. The election for the chairman position is generating significant interest, with two prominent candidates vying for the role.

Sagar Pandey (Voter No. 593) and Rajendra Prasad Sapkota (Voter No. 1024) are both experienced figures in the trekking and tourism industry, each bringing their unique vision and expertise to the table. Their respective campaigns focus on advancing TAAN’s objectives and addressing the evolving needs of Nepal’s trekking community.

All TAAN members are invited to attend the AGM, which aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the association’s activities planned for 2024 and to elect new leadership that will guide TAAN in its future endeavors.
