Langtang National Park Enforces Nature and Trekking Guide Requirement for Trekking Safety

The Langtang National Park Office has made it mandatory for all tourists visiting the park to be accompanied by a Nature Guide or Trekking Guide. This decision was made following concerns over the safety of travelers and the increasing number of accidents in the park’s difficult terrain.

A meeting held on Magh 15, 2081 (January 29, 2025) emphasized the need for professional guidance, stating that many tourists have been entering the park without a guide, which has led to incidents and even fatalities in dangerous areas.

To ensure the safety of visitors and prevent accidents, park authorities have requested all tourism operators to arrange certified guides for their clients. The decision also aims to enhance park management and environmental conservation efforts.

The Langtang National Park Office has urged both domestic and international tourists to comply with this new regulation and support efforts to improve trekking safety and responsible tourism in the region.
