The management of Tribhuvan International Airport has started efforts to resolve the issues of sanitation workers who are protesting over unpaid salaries.

Airport General Manager Jagannath Niraula stated that sanitation workers have been refusing to collect garbage for the past 10 days as a form of protest. He mentioned that the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has been approached regarding salary payments.

“A letter has been sent to the CAAN board, and once the approval for salary disbursement is received, the issue will be resolved. We are working on the necessary procedures,” he added.

Due to the protest, garbage has not been collected from the airport’s domestic terminal for the past 10 days, causing inconvenience to passengers. Travelers have complained about the foul smell, with some even having to cover their noses. Sanitation workers claim they have not received their salaries since last December.
