Tribhuvan International Airport Reduces Closure Hours Amid Construction Progress

Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) will reduce its daily closure time to eight hours starting January 28, down from the current ten-hour closure implemented since November 8 for infrastructure development.

Pradip Adhikari, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), stated, “As building work at Tribhuvan Airport progresses, flight hours have been enhanced for the convenience of passengers. Construction is ongoing, and operational hours are increasing accordingly.”

Currently, TIA operates from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.. However, starting January 15, the airport will extend its hours, opening at 7 a.m. and closing at 11 p.m. This adjustment aims to accommodate passengers more effectively while maintaining steady progress on infrastructure improvements.

The new schedule marks a significant step toward balancing the demands of construction and the growing needs of travelers.
