Vinayak Jaya Malla, a 37-year-old resident of Mallaj in Jaljala Rural Municipality-3 of Parbat district, has successfully summited Mount Everest (Sagarmatha), the highest peak in the world, for the fifth time. Malla first reached the summit of Everest in 2017.
Currently affiliated with Elite Exped, a leading expedition company, Malla holds an internationally certified high-altitude guide license. His mountaineering career began with the successful ascent of Mt. Dhaulagiri in 2017, located in Mudi of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality in Myagdi.

In addition to Everest, Vinayak Jaya has successfully climbed Mt. Manaslu five times and Mt. Lhotse once. He shared that beyond climbing, he has been involved in multiple high-risk rescue missions, helping climbers on the brink of death return safely. “I feel proud to be able to save lives in such extreme conditions this gives my profession deeper meaning,” said Vinayak Jaya.

Vinayak Jaya’s mountaineering achievements extend beyond Nepal; he has climbed numerous peaks in Europe, Indonesia, and Pakistan, with more than a dozen successful ascents in total. He emphasized that mountaineering is a challenging pursuit that requires unwavering dedication, courage, and relentless effort.

In the coming days, he is set to lead an expedition to the mountains of Pakistan. Apart from mountaineering, Vinayak Jaya is also actively involved in promoting tourism in Myagdi and Parbat regions. He credits record-breaking climber Nirmal Purja as a major source of inspiration.
Looking ahead, Malla aims to scale all 14 of the world’s peaks above 8,000 meters, and plans to intensify his efforts in both mountaineering and tourism promotion in Nepal.
