On November 7, 2024, Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) Gandaki extended a grand welcome to Chinese athletes arriving to participate in the 3rd Pokhara International Mountain Cross Country Competition 2024, under the theme “Run For Common Prosperity.” The athletes were received with traditional khadas and garlands at Pokhara International Airport, showcasing Nepal’s hospitality and respect for international guests.
The competition, scheduled for November 9, 2024, is organized by the Nepal Tourism Board in collaboration with the Gandaki Province Government, Pokhara Metropolitan City, the Chinese Embassy, and the Himalayan Tourism Forum. This year’s event is held as part of the “Pokhara-Kunming International Friendship Cities League,” aiming to strengthen the ties between Nepal and China through sports and tourism.
The initiative is expected to promote tourism in Pokhara and foster cultural exchange between Nepal and China, underscoring the mutual goal of regional prosperity and closer international relations.
