Weather Alert: Thunderstorms and Rain Expected Across Nepal in the Coming Days

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Meteorological Forecast Division has predicted changes in weather conditions across Nepal in the coming days, with possibilities of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds accompanied by rainfall in various regions.

In a special weather bulletin released on Monday, the department urged farmers to stay updated with regular weather forecasts before starting agricultural activities, as the expected rainfall may affect the agricultural sector.

According to the Meteorological Forecast Division, the country is currently experiencing the influence of monsoon winds. Moist air from the Bay of Bengal is causing partial to general cloud cover throughout Nepal, with light rain, and thunderstorms likely in the western regions of Lumbini Province and the Terai areas of Sudurpashchim Province. Some areas may experience moderate rainfall, while one or two places are expected to see heavy downpours.

The bulletin further indicates the possibility of light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, in other parts of Sudurpashchim and Lumbini Provinces, as well as select locations in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali Provinces. Additionally, one or two places in the Madhesh Province may see light rain. By Wednesday, partial to general cloud cover is expected across the country, with scattered thunderstorms and light to moderate rain in various regions.

Residents and farmers are advised to stay updated on weather conditions, particularly due to the potential impact on daily life and agriculture.
