The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that the monsoon system, combined with the influence of a low-pressure area around northeastern Madhya Pradesh and southern Uttar Pradesh, is impacting Nepal’s weather.
Currently, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces are experiencing partly to mostly cloudy skies, while the rest of the country enjoys relatively clear weather.
According to the department’s forecast, the afternoon will bring partly to mostly cloudy skies in Lumbini, Karnali, Sudurpaschim, and other hilly areas of the country. Some parts of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces may experience light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. There is also a possibility of storms in the Terai regions of Lumbini.
For the night, the forecast suggests partly to mostly cloudy skies in the hilly regions, including Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces, with clear skies in most other areas. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in one or two locations in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.
Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is likely in parts of the hilly regions, particularly in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Additionally, some areas in the Terai regions of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces may experience storms.
