Western Winds Influence Weather Across Nepal: Light Rain and Snow Expected in Hill and Mountain Regions

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported a minor influence of western winds in Nepal, causing partial cloud cover in hilly areas, while most other regions enjoy clear skies. Some parts of the Terai are experiencing light fog.

According to the department, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are likely to see partial to moderate cloud cover during the day, with the rest of the country experiencing mostly clear weather. Isolated light rain is expected in a few hilly areas of these provinces, with chances of light snowfall in some high-hilly and mountainous regions.

Tonight, the weather in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will remain partially to moderately cloudy, with other regions seeing partly clear skies. There is also a possibility of light rain in a few locations within these provinces, alongside light snowfall in some higher altitude areas.

For the next 24 hours, light rain is forecasted in one or two places in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, with light snowfall likely in high-hilly and Himalayan regions.

The department has urged caution in sectors like agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, road, and air transport, as temporary or partial disruptions may occur due to the weather conditions. Travelers and stakeholders are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
