Aiming to attract both internal and external tourists, the 12th Bhedetar Food Festival will be held from Poush 16 to 18, 2024, at Bhedetar, Sunsari. The festival, organized in celebration of the upcoming New Year 2025, will be hosted at one of Koshi Province’s prominent tourist destinations.
The announcement was made by Tumraj Limbu, President of the Hotel Association Bhedetar, who shared that the festival will feature food stalls from Sangurigadhi-6 Bhedetar Chowk to Kamfek, Thumki Namje, and from Bhedetar Chowk to Namaste Waterfall, Simsuwa. Alongside food stalls, there will be a focus on the marketing of agricultural and local products from the Sangurigadhi area.
The event aims to boost tourism and promote major attractions in the region, including the popular sites of Dhankuta District such as Shailung Danda, Charles View Tower, Sky Bridge, Pathibhara Temple, Shankheshwor, Bhedetar Park, Sunrise Buddhist Park, Paragliding Site, Dhej Danda, Okhre View Tower, Namaste Waterfall, Sangurigadhi, Namje Village, Ajangko Barako Tree, Thousand Big Buddha, Karkichhap Waterfall, Chandi Bazaar, Ahale, Khuwalung Triveni, Dhej Padmarg, Jhandi Danda, and Galkhadi.
President Limbu expressed his belief that the food festival will significantly contribute to promoting these tourist sites and increasing visitor interest in the region.
