46th Tourist Police Day Marked with Emphasis on Tourism Promotion

Kathmandu witnessed the celebration of the 46th Tourist Police Day today, a significant occasion that highlighted the vital role of the Tourist Police in ensuring the safety and satisfaction of visitors. The event was graced by Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, who acknowledged the contributions of various organizations and individuals to the success of the Tourist Police.

Minister Pandey lauded the efforts of the Tourist Police in safeguarding tourists and addressing their concerns. Stressing the importance of tourism promotion, he emphasized the need for the entire tourism sector to enhance its capabilities to better serve visitors and boost the nation’s tourism profile.

Inspector General of Nepal Police, Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, underscored the necessity of a collaborative approach among stakeholders to ensure tourist security. He highlighted that the efforts of the police alone are insufficient, and coordinated action is essential to achieve meaningful results.

The event also saw the participation of Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Binod Prakash Singh, and Nepal Tourism Board CEO, Dipak Raj Joshi, along with other prominent officials. They shared their insights on advancing tourism and enhancing the experiences of visitors to Nepal.

This year’s celebration of Tourist Police Day serves as a reminder of the critical role of cooperation and capacity-building in bolstering Nepal’s tourism industry.
