Incident of Severe Turbulence on Flight UX045 from Madrid to Montevideo

A recent flight operated by Spanish airline company Air Europa encountered powerful turbulence during its journey to Montevideo, Uruguay. Reports indicate that 30 passengers were injured due to the turbulence, which occurred following departure from Madrid. The incident unfolded when Air Europa’s UX045, en route to Montevideo, experienced severe turbulence over Natal, Brazil, prompting an emergency landing.

Air Europa promptly responded to the situation on Monday through a detailed microblogging update on their website, outlining the sequence of events. Upon landing, affected passengers received immediate medical attention for injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The aircraft involved, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner capable of carrying up to 339 passengers, faced challenges as some passengers were thrown off balance during the unstable flight, causing injuries.

While many passengers had securely fastened their seat belts, others sustained injuries when thrown upwards within the cabin. Despite the incident, passengers who adhered to safety protocols by wearing seat belts largely avoided serious harm, although some reported fractures and injuries to their heads, necks, and arms.
