Construction Begins On Arghakhanchi’s Argha Bhagwati Airport

Following the signing of an agreement by the Aerodrome Engineering Department of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) to start tree clearance for the project, the construction of Argha Bhagwati Airport in the Arghakhanchi district has officially begun.

In order to prepare the site for development, CAAN has selected Bhusal Construction and Suppliers Pvt. Ltd. to complete the first phase, which entails clearing the designated area by removing trees.

Former Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi laid the foundation stone for the airport, which bears the name of the holy Bhagwati Temple. Nowadays, you can travel from Kathmandu to Arghakhanchi by road, or you can fly to Pokhara or Bhairahawa and then take a bus. By road, the district is about four hours away from Pokhara and three hours away from Bhairahawa.

It is anticipated that the new airport will greatly increase accessibility and convenience for both residents and visitors, boosting the area’s economy and tourism. The project is anticipated to be finished in four years and is expected to cost NPR 800 million. Furthermore, CAAN is proceeding with plans for additional airport projects in Dharan, Khiji Phalate (Okhaldhunga), Kalikot, Gulmi, and Ilam (Sunsari).
