Nepal Rastra Bank Publishes Today’s Foreign Exchange Rates: US Dollar at NPR 136.03

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), the central monetary authority of Nepal, has officially released the foreign currency exchange rates applicable for today. The daily bulletin from NRB outlines the buying and selling rates of major international currencies, which play a crucial role in guiding commercial banking transactions, international trade settlements, remittances, and tourism-related foreign exchanges.

According to the updated figures, the buying rate for 1 US dollar stands at NPR 135.43, while the selling rate is set at NPR 136.03. The Euro, another major global currency, is being exchanged at a buying rate of NPR 153.95 and a selling rate of NPR 154.63. Meanwhile, the British Pound Sterling holds firm with a buying rate of NPR 180.80 and a selling rate of NPR 181.60, reflecting its continued strength in the international market.

Among other prominent currencies, the Swiss Franc is listed at NPR 164.37 for buying and NPR 165.09 for selling. Similarly, the Australian Dollar stands at NPR 87.70 for buying and NPR 88.09 for selling, whereas the Canadian Dollar’s rates are NPR 98.19 for buying and NPR 98.63 for selling.

In Asia, the Japanese Yen, calculated per 10 units, is being exchanged at NPR 9.45 for buying and NPR 9.49 for selling. China’s Yuan is pegged at NPR 18.74 (buying) and NPR 18.83 (selling), and the Singapore Dollar has been set at NPR 104.92 and NPR 105.39 for buying and selling, respectively. Among Gulf currencies, the Saudi Arabian Riyal has a buying rate of NPR 36.11 and a selling rate of NPR 36.26, while the Qatari Riyal is listed at NPR 37.15 and NPR 37.32, respectively.

Other rates include the Thai Baht at NPR 4.15 (buying) and NPR 4.16 (selling), the UAE Dirham at NPR 36.87 (buying) and NPR 37.04 (selling), and the Malaysian Ringgit at NPR 31.85 and NPR 32.09 for buying and selling respectively. The South Korean Won, calculated per 100 units, is being exchanged at NPR 9.73 (buying) and NPR 9.78 (selling). Additionally, the Swedish Krona is valued at NPR 14.11 (buying) and NPR 14.17 (selling), while the Danish Krona sits at NPR 20.63 (buying) and NPR 20.72 (selling).

High-value currencies such as the Hong Kong Dollar have been fixed at NPR 17.45 for buying and NPR 17.53 for selling. The Kuwaiti Dinar remains the most valuable among the listed currencies, trading at a buying rate of NPR 441.74 and a selling rate of NPR 443.70. Similarly, the Bahraini Dinar has been placed at NPR 359.20 for buying and NPR 360.79 for selling, and the Omani Riyal is listed at NPR 351.77 and NPR 353.33 respectively.

Regarding regional neighbors, the Indian Rupee is fixed at NPR 160 per 100 INR for buying and NPR 160.15 for selling. This fixed rate continues to guide daily business and tourism transactions between the two countries.

Nepal Rastra Bank has also issued a note of caution stating that these rates are subject to change at any time as per the central bank’s discretion. Furthermore, it has clarified that exchange rates provided by commercial banks may differ slightly due to market dynamics. For the most accurate and updated rates, the public is encouraged to refer to the official NRB website, where real-time updates are made available.

The daily issuance of foreign exchange rates is an integral part of NRB’s effort to maintain transparency and stability in Nepal’s monetary policy framework.
