Altitude Air Helicopter Crashes in Lobuche, Solukhumbu; Pilot Safe

An Altitude Air helicopter met with an accident in Lobuche, Solukhumbu, on Wednesday morning. According to tourism entrepreneur Kaji Bista, the heli, which was being piloted by Captain Bivek Khadka, encountered an issue while landing at the Lobuche helipad and subsequently crashed.

Fortunately, Captain Khadka escaped unharmed, though the helicopter sustained significant damage in the incident. Rescue and technical teams are reported to be assessing the site and investigating the cause of the crash.

Flight Details

According to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) spokesperson Gyanendra Bhul, the Altitude Air helicopter (call sign 9N-AMS) had taken off from Lukla at 7:45 AM. It was scheduled for a routine flight to Lobuche when the accident occurred during the landing phase.
