Pokhara Tourism Meet: Indian Operators Eye Begnas to Unlock New Opportunities

As part of efforts to promote tourism in Pokhara, a 12-member Indian delegation of travel operators and social media professionals visited the Begnas Lake area to explore its tourism potential ahead of the upcoming Tourism Meet scheduled to be held in the city tomorrow. The Pokhara Tourism Council jointly organizes the initiative, Gandaki Province Ministry of Industry and Tourism, Pokhara Metropolitan City, and the Nepal Tourism Board.

Warm Welcome and Engagement in Chitwan for Indian Tour Operators

The Indian delegation, led by Jeevan Raj Sapkota, General Secretary of the Pokhara Tourism Council, was warmly welcomed at the Sunauli border and escorted to Chitwan via road. During the visit, representatives from the Hotel Association Nepal, Chitwan, interacted with the delegation to discuss tourism partnerships and collaborative opportunities. The team also visited local tourist sites in Chitwan, gaining firsthand experience of the area’s tourism offerings.

Commitment to Collaborative Tourism Promotion

Dinesh Kumar, Deputy Director of the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, expressed his commitment to supporting efforts for promoting tourism in the region. The delegation’s visit aims to strengthen ties between Nepali and Indian tourism stakeholders and showcase Pokhara’s potential as a prime tourism destination for both domestic and international travelers.

Next Destinations for the Indian Delegation

Following their visit to Chitwan, the Indian team will continue their familiarization tour of major tourist destinations in Parbat and Baglung. The delegation is expected to engage with local tourism operators, explore regional attractions, and discuss potential collaborations that could further enhance tourism flows between Nepal and India.

The Tourism Meet in Pokhara is anticipated to bring together industry stakeholders, travel operators, and media professionals to explore investment opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and promote Pokhara as a premier tourism destination during the Pokhara Visit Year 2025.
