In a recent address, Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, called upon the employees of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) to maintain the highest standards of integrity in their work. As the Chairman of PADT, Minister Pandey underscored the unique nature of duties performed in the sacred Pashupati area, emphasizing that all activities must adhere to cultural norms and discipline.
“The tasks here are distinct from those elsewhere. Performance must reflect morality and honesty. Transparency is crucial in all endeavors to ensure that this religious site and institution continually uphold faith, trust, and honor,” Minister Pandey reiterated.
He further emphasized that the activities conducted by PADT should enhance its spiritual image, noting that Pashupatinath is a vital center of faith for Vedic Hindus worldwide.
Joint Secretary at the Ministry, Hemraj Tamang, highlighted the global significance of Pashupatinath Temple, which attracts tens of millions of devotees each year. He affirmed the government’s commitment to collaborating with PADT to ensure the temple’s proper preservation.
PADT Member Secretary, Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa, shared challenges faced by the Trust, particularly the shortage of human resources. He informed the Minister about ongoing PADT activities and expressed concerns about facing complaints when initiating new projects.
Additionally, PADT Spokesperson, Rewati Raman Adhikari, provided an introductory presentation about the Trust, detailing its functions and current efforts. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of PADT’s commitment to maintaining the sanctity and integrity of Pashupatinath Temple, ensuring it remains a revered site for devotees around the globe.
