Himalayan Motorcycle Experience to Host ‘Mango Ride’ to Promote Rural Tourism

The The Himalayan Motorcycle Experience has announced the return of its annual “Mango Ride,” scheduled to take place from Ashadh 5 to 8 this year. The multi-day motorcycle ride aims to promote domestic tourism while connecting riders with rural communities and local agricultural practices.

Promoting Organic Produce and Rural Experiences

The Himalayan Motorcycle Experience said the “Mango Ride” is designed to give participants a unique opportunity to travel beyond urban centers and experience Nepal’s countryside firsthand. Riders will visit orchards where they can taste fresh organic mangoes directly from farms, while also supporting the promotion of locally grown produce.

The initiative highlights the importance of agro-tourism by linking travelers with farmers and showcasing the richness of Nepal’s agriculture-based lifestyle. According to the club, such rides not only provide adventure but also contribute to uplifting rural economies.

Exploring New Routes Across Nepal

The Himalayan Motorcycle Experience has built a reputation for discovering and promoting new tourism routes across the country. Through its regular rides, the club explores lesser-known destinations, studies local conditions, and helps bring these areas into the tourism map for both domestic and international visitors.

Since its establishment in 2015 by a group of four bike enthusiasts, the club has consistently organized rides every year starting from the first Friday of Ashadh, except during disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Madhesh Movement. Over the years, its members have traveled to nearly 70 districts across Nepal, gaining deep insights into the country’s diverse geography and culture.

Blending Adventure with Social Responsibility

Beyond travel and tourism promotion, the club is also actively engaged in social initiatives. It regularly extends support to schools, social organizations, and orphanages, while also participating in relief efforts during natural disasters.

During its rides, the Himalayan Motorcycle Experience conducts awareness campaigns on traffic safety and road discipline, contributing to safer travel practices. Charity rides have also become a regular feature of its program, combining adventure with community service.

Past Impact and Future Plans

Last year, during the eighth edition of the “Mango Ride,” the club carried out a notable social initiative in Lahan, where around 200 students from a Musahar community received educational materials. Additionally, mosquito nets were distributed to families in the settlement to support their well-being. The program was inaugurated by Kulman Ghising, adding prominence to the initiative. Organizers have indicated that this year’s ride will also feature participation from distinguished personalities.

Strengthening Domestic Tourism

With growing interest in experiential and community-based tourism, events like the “Mango Ride” are gaining importance. By combining motorcycling adventure with cultural immersion and social impact, the Himalayan Motorcycle Experience continues to set an example of sustainable tourism practices in Nepal.

As preparations move forward, this year’s edition is expected to attract enthusiastic riders eager to explore new destinations, support local farmers, and celebrate Nepal’s rural charm in a meaningful way.
