Karnali Province has collected NPR 21.47 million in revenue from various tourist areas within the province. This revenue collection was recorded for the fiscal year 2080/81.
According to the provincial government, revenue collected from Rara National Park amounted to NPR 4.12 million. The Surkhet Provincial Martyrs’ Park contributed NPR 9.09 million, Kakrebihar generated NPR 1.15 million, and Bulbule Garden brought in NPR 7.14 million.
Devkumari Shahi, the Chief Administrative Officer of the Tourism Development Branch of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment, mentioned that revenue from Shey-Phoksundo Lake and Dailekh’s ‘View Tower’ in Gurans Rural Municipality has not been included in this total.
Karnali Province is home to several other significant tourist destinations, including Kupinde Lake in Salyan, Syarpu Lake in Rukum West, Gidi Lake in Jumla, Chandannath Temple, Kanakasundari, Tripurasundari in Dolpa, Pachali Waterfall in Kalikot, Panchakoshi in Dailekh, Dullu Durbar, Gadhi Area, Limi Valley in Humla, Jajarkot Durbar, Barahatal in Surkhet, and Jajura Lake. However, the ministry does not have revenue records for these sites.
The province’s efforts to develop and promote these areas are ongoing, with a focus on enhancing infrastructure and visitor facilities to boost tourism and generate more revenue in the future.
